UPDATE: 2/1/17

New Supplier, Updated Product Withdrawal Dates

Tasty Toppings, Inc. has engaged a new tomato product supplier as part of continued efforts to address the product quality issues with Dorothy Lynch Home Style Dressing. While the new supplier has made significant improvement in the overall product quality, some bottles of Home Style Dressing may still be affected by the quality issue.

Recent ‘Best By’ dates that may be affected are:

 • Home Style 16, or 32 ounce bottles:

 • 3-20-17 thru 5-31-17

Fat Free is not included.

This product quality issue is not a health concern for consumers and is only present in some bottles and does not affect every batch. Customers are encouraged to check the dates on their bottle before breaking the seal to open it.

MEDIA STATEMENT: Tasty Toppings Withdraws Dorothy Lynch Home Style Dressing

“Tasty Toppings continues to work to resolve the product quality issues that caused our voluntary recall that we announced in May. It has come to our attention that some recently released batches of Dorothy Lynch Home Style Dressing may still be affected. We issued a limited quality withdrawal. 
 
After conducting extensive tests, we discovered a bacteria (lactobacillus), commonly found in food products such as yogurt and probiotics, creates gas bubbles inside some sealed bottles of Dorothy Lynch Home Style Dressing. This may cause the dressing to foam or spew out of the affected bottles when opened.
 
This bacteria poses no health risks to consumers if eaten. Dorothy Lynch Fat Free Dressing is not included in our withdrawal.”

Since the initial recall, we have been working with our supplier to resolve the quality issue as quickly and efficiently as possible. Dorothy Lynch Home Style Dressing is still being produced, however, additional testing processes have been added at our supplier’s facility and at our facility in Columbus. Each new batch is also held for an extra 7 days to ensure there are no issues prior to shipping. These additional measures delay delivery to stores and our ability to restock shelves.

Our goal is to make sure everything on the market is nothing less than perfect. We have shipped some product and we ask for your patience and understanding while we work to refill the shelves.

ORIGNAL RECALL MESSAGE: 5/06/16

Due to a product quality issue, Tasty Toppings Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of Dorothy Lynch Home Style Dressing primarily shipped to Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota. It’s important to note the product poses no health risks to consumers and Fat Free Dorothy Lynch Dressing is not included in the recall.

After conducting extensive tests, we have identified a product quality issue with one of our ingredients. A bacteria (lactobacillus), commonly found in food products such as yogurt as well as probiotics, is causing gas bubbles to form inside sealed bottles of Dorothy Lynch Home Style Dressing. This causes the dressing to foam or spew out of the bottles when opened.

If you have purchased a bottle of dressing, you can look at the "Best By" date on the neck of the bottle to determine if it has been affected.



Affected "Best By" dates are:

 • Home Style 8, 16, or 32 ounce bottles:

   • Bottles with "Best By" dates between 9/16/16 and 1/7/17 are recalled.

 • Home Style gallons:

   • Gallons with "Best By" dates between 6/16/16 and 10/11/16 are recalled.



If you have already opened a bottle within this date range and did not experience any issues, you can decide to either discard the bottle or continue using the product.
